Welcome
Rotary Club of St. John's East
WHO WE ARE - The Rotary Club of St. John's East was chartered on June 4, 1993 through sponsorship from the Rotary Club of St. John's. Our membership is currently between 50 and 60 members and growing. As early risers, we meet 7:30 am every Friday morning at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, in Cavendish Square in downtown St. John's. Humour abounds and our meetings are widely viewed by visiting Rotarians and guests as being very upbeat and entertaining. St. John's East has a reputation for being a very forward looking club which makes a valuable contribution to improving the lives of those less fortunate at both the local and international level. In recognition of its efforts, during the 2006/07 Rotary year, the Rotary Club of St. John's East was recognized as the outstanding club in all of District 7820 which encompasses some 46 clubs throughout Atlantic Canada.
WHEN and WHERE WE MEET - The Rotary Club of St. John's East meets every Friday at 7:30 am at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland, 115 Cavendish Square, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
WHAT WE DO - Our club is a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs and our members are our most important asset. from 1995 to 2010, we have had one main fundraising event, our annual Wheels and Deals Gala that have enabled us to provide over $600,000 to local projects and programs that addressed a wide range of needs. In 2011, we introduced our first annual Valentines Ball "For Love and Money" which raised $37,833 in aid of Ronald MacDonald House and the Penney Family YMCA building funds and other causes. Mark your calendars for February 11, 2012 and the "For Love and Money" Valentine's Ball. Funds raised on February 11, 2012 will go to the Rotary Read-A-Long program and to support our adopted school, Bishop Abraham Elementary.
